Ran into this music video at Ministry and Meteorology? Blog.
Looks like a lot of fun, looks like something I would imagine doing, in a room full of treadmills, of course.

Today’s Independence Day Video.
Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. August 28, 1968, Washington, D.C. This is the full speech he gave in front of the Lincoln Memorial. I had only previously heard about 5 minutes of the 11 minute speech. It is all worth hearing again.

A good dream that many are still waiting for no matter what the color of their skin.
I’ve been spending a bit more time than I usually do with a deeper and important (in my mind) post. So I will present a little musical interlude

This is one of my favorite music videos of all time, Peter Gabriel’s Sledgehammer. I hadn’t seen it for a few years. I love the whole thing but had forgotten all about the dancing chickens. Enjoy.
…Video.
Last week, Anna and I finished painting the Chalice labyrinth for the Iowa Annual Conference (which begins meeting tomorrow). We set up in the garage and I had my video camera set for time-lapse (one second every minute). So the video is 2 and half hours of work condensed to less than 2 minutes.

Even though the painting took only 2 and a half hours, it probably took at least 15 hours of work to prepare the canvas, and the paper template for the painting.
I confess that I love the process of the design coming together before my eyes. Every once in a while while removing the paper path coverings and then as the colors began to be applied I just stopped and went, WoW! This is Fun.
I know that not all people enjoy the process like that, but I relish the whole thing from design to implementation to enjoyment. I hope you enjoy the taste from the video.
It has taken a little bit to get things working, but I am beginning to venture into multimedia. This video is not mine, but it is more of a test of concept.
However, it is a great video of Victor Wooten of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones on bass doing marvelous things. As a bass player I have marveled at listening to his rendition of Amazing Grace on a CD. However, nothing compares to the awe of actually seeing how easily he can coax such wondrous sounds from those 4 fat strings.
So enjoy.

Proof of Concept? Indeed. I am working on editing a time lapse video I made of Anna and I painting the new canvas labyrinth for the Annual Conference. I hope to have that up in a day or two (I have had to upgrade my editing software a couple times) And who knows I might find some more things to put up here and maybe even start into video blogging. Whoa, there is a scary thing.
